Delete Your SoloDesq Account
Last updated: September 19, 2026
This page explains how to delete your SoloDesq account and the data associated with it. It is a public page — you do not need an account, and you do not need to sign in, to read it.
The short version
- In the app: open the More tab, tap Cloud Account, then tap “Delete account & all data” and confirm.
- Your sign-in is removed immediately and cannot be restored, and the rest of what our servers hold under your account is deleted in the same process. This version of SoloDesq keeps no copy of your books on our servers, so there are no invoices, expenses or trips of yours there to delete. A few records outlast deletion — they are listed below and in our Privacy Policy §6. We would rather say so here than let you discover it later.
- Deletion does not send you a copy of your data. Export first if you want one.
- Can’t open the app? Email support@solodesq.com from the address on your account and we will run the same deletion for you.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription — cancel that in your App Store account settings.
Before you delete: export your data
Deletion does not send you a copy of your data, and it also erases the SoloDesq data on your phone, so afterwards there is nothing left to export. If you want a copy, take it first:
- In the app, open the More tab and scroll to Data export. Pick the tax year (this year or last year), then tap “Export Excel workbook” for a summary plus your income, expenses and mileage on separate tabs, or “Export Schedule C CSV” for the year’s Schedule C line totals.
- If the app has sent you to the subscribe screen instead, tap “Export my data” there — it opens the same export. Your own records are never held behind the subscribe screen.
- Exports do not include receipt photos, invoice PDFs, client contact details or trip GPS points, and we cannot send you a fuller copy — this version keeps your books only on your phone. Receipt photos cannot be shared out of the app in this version, so keep the paper receipts you need (photos you picked from your photo library are still in Photos). To keep an invoice PDF, open the invoice and use Share PDF to send it somewhere outside SoloDesq — Save PDF keeps the file inside the app, and deleting your account erases it.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the More tab (the bottom tabs are Home, Expenses, Mileage, More).
- Tap Cloud Account. If the app has sent you to the subscribe screen instead, tap “Manage or delete account” there — it opens the same screen, and account deletion works whether or not you have an active subscription.
- Tap “Delete account & all data”.
- Confirm. Deletion begins as soon as you confirm.
What is deleted from our servers
In this version our servers hold no invoices, expenses, mileage trips, clients or receipt photos of yours — those stay on your phone. What they do hold under your account is deleted when you confirm:
- Your sign-in — removed from our authentication system immediately, so you cannot sign back in with it. If you used Sign in with Apple, SoloDesq stays listed in your Apple Account (Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple) until you remove it there.
- Your workspace and its settings
- Your subscription status
- Your privacy choices — the consents you gave or withdrew in the app
- Your monthly usage counts for receipt scanning and AI
There is no grace period and no way to undo it. Once you confirm, the account cannot be restored.
What is deleted from your device
The app then signs you out and erases the local copy on that device. This removes:
- Every business record held on the device — invoices, expenses, income entries, mileage trips, time entries, projects, clients and vehicles.
- The pending-sync queue and the app’s local activity log.
- Your recorded privacy choices.
- Your receipt photos and any invoice PDFs saved to the app’s Documents folder. These are deleted too — the folder is erased, not just the database rows that point at it.
Your business name and tax settings are deliberately kept so the app still opens normally instead of restarting setup. Temporary copies of files you exported or shared can remain in the phone’s cache until iOS clears it, and the phone keeps its record that the free period was used. If you had a subscription, the phone also keeps a small record of your account ID and subscription status in the iPhone keychain, which the app uses to keep working offline; deleting your account does not remove it.
Your subscription provider’s record
In the same step we ask our subscription provider, RevenueCat, to delete the record it keeps under your account ID. If that request fails, it is not yet retried automatically. Email us and we will check that the record is gone and tell you.
What deletion does not remove
- A copy of what our servers held under your account at the moment of deletion. The deletion process writes this file, and nothing currently removes it. Email us and we will delete it for you.
- A change history of your privacy choices, your account membership and the deletion itself, kept for about 36 months.
- A retry note for our subscription provider. If the record could not be deleted at the moment you deleted your account, a note holding your account ID and the reason stays on our servers until that deletion succeeds.
- A rate-limit counter for receipt scanning, which holds your account ID, a count and a timestamp, not content.
- A paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, and deleting your account does not cancel one. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SoloDesq → Cancel.
If you never created an account
SoloDesq works without an account. In that mode our servers hold nothing about you, so there is no account to delete — everything you entered lives only on your device. (Our subscription provider keeps an anonymous record, created when the app first checks your subscription, with no name, email address or books in it.) If you started creating an account with your email but never confirmed it, our servers still hold that email address and an empty workspace for it — email us and we will delete them. The same More → Cloud Account screen offers “Delete all data on this device” instead.
That control permanently erases every invoice, expense, income entry, mileage trip, time entry, project, client and vehicle stored on the device, along with your receipt photos, any invoice PDFs saved to the app’s Documents folder, and your privacy choices. Your business name and tax settings are kept so the app still opens normally, and temporary copies of files you exported or shared can remain in the phone’s cache until iOS clears it. It cannot be undone.
If you cannot open the app
You do not need the app to have your account deleted. If the app opens but has sent you to the subscribe screen, you do not need to email us at all — tap “Manage or delete account” on that screen, which works without a subscription. Otherwise, write to us:
